Bay Presbyterian Church is one of IHN’s founding congregations and began hosting in 1999. Chris Stasa is one of the current Volunteer Coordinators. Here is more about his IHN journey, in his own words...

IHN at Bay Presbyterian Church seeks to love others home by providing basic hospitality to those without a physical home. This hospitality can come through home-cooked food, conversation, going the extra mile and some, however imperfect, sense of normalcy in a difficult situation.

While I wasn’t planning on IHN being my own ministry, volunteer sign-ups at BPC led me to become involved. My IHN volunteering forces my plans and worries to take a back seat to God’s work. Whether spending time in frenzied games with kids, listening to the quiet of the church building at night while laying in a cot, my thoughts don’t often turn to myself. Usually, I pray about the mothers, fathers, children and fellow volunteers the Lord brought my way. I have had the pleasure of hearing each and every family tell me, in essence, that they felt truly loved, that they were “something special” here, or specifically felt the love of Christ. And you hear almost every volunteer say the same thing. IHN is an unexpected blessing in my life.
